Microneedling with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a revolutionary technique in the field of skin rejuvenation and hair restoration. By creating controlled micro-injuries and using growth factors and nutrients found in PRP, microneedling delivers a stimulating environment for the skin to regenerate. Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure wherein a device (SkinPen) rolls tiny needles over the skin to create microscopic channels, also known as micro-injuries. This triggers the body’s natural healing response, which restores the skin’s appearance and fights the visible signs of aging. Prior to using the SkinPen on the desired area (face, neck, chest, hairline, etc), a technician will apply a numbing gel/cream to the skin, which takes about 20-30 min to take effect. During the numbing process, you will lay under an infrared light, which is beneficial to skin health and inflammation as well. The technician will then take a small sample of blood using a butterfly needle. The blood sample is then spun down and separated to isolate the PRP. Once separated, the PRP is reintroduced to your skin during the microneedling process. The total procedure time is anywhere from 45-75 min. Down time is only 24 hours. It is recommended to initially do a treatment every 3-6 weeks for 3-6 sessions for maximum benefit, and then annually or bi-annually thereafter. Results vary from person to person.
